This Assertive Outreach Nurse is responsible for the assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation of client care within the Recovery Alberta Clinic located in the Wetaskiwin area including Maskwacis; as well as the Drayton Valley Clinic as needed. The incumbent performs a variety of nursing duties by administering safe and effective nursing care according to clinical policies and procedures and nursing care standards within Alberta Health Services. As a member of a multidisciplinary team, you will provide crisis intervention, assessment, diagnostic and treatment services (supportive therapy and life skills development) to adults with chronic and persistent psychiatric disorders. You will undertake individual support work and may do group activities. Your responsibilities will also include collaborative working relationships with and providing consultation to mental health therapists, addictions counsellors, community treatment order staff, consumer support workersmental health aides, community agencies, physicians and other health professionals in the continuum of mental health care. There is opportunity with this position to also support crisis assessment at the Wetaskiwin Hospital. This Assertive Outreach Nurse will be working in a mental health environment and will practice within their full scope of practice as defined by the appropriate college and accepts responsibility for continuing competency through ongoing professional development, including participating in educational programs, research and continuous quality activities. This position has transitioned to Recovery Alberta effective September 1, 2024.
