Virtuous Circle Counselling is a locally owned private counselling practice that is seeking a passionate therapist for an independent contractor position. If you're a passionate Registered Psychologist, Provisional Psychologist or Social Worker (MSW/RCSW) this is your chance to be an integral part of our team.

Responsibilities

You must be willing to be committed and responsible for the following responsibilities:

You must be willing to offer free 30-minute phone consultations. Client documentation, reporting, and contractor invoicing will be completed in a timely manner. You must be comfortable working independently, as well as working closely with the clinical director. You must carry your own professional liability insurance. You must be able to respond to emails and phone calls within the same day. Ensure the clinical approach is evidence-based, adheres to professional standards of practice, and is goal-oriented and client-centered. Actively elicit feedback from clients regarding the quality of the therapeutic relationship in the interest of enhancing the therapeutic alliance.

Assets

You are a passionate therapist who has a background in one or more of the following approaches: Dialectical Behavior Therapy, Cognitive Behavior Therapy, Prolonged Exposure Therapy, Sensorimotor or Somatic Experiencing Psychotherapy, Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), Narrative Therapy, Acceptance Commitment Therapy, Gottman Method, Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT), Internal Family Systems.

Qualifications

Registered as a Psychologist/Provisional Psychologist in good standing with the College of Alberta Psychologists or a registered Social Worker in good standing with the Alberta College of Social Workers.

Couples counselling experience is an asset.
