Company Overview

The Registered Practical Nurse provides a leadership role within the patient care team and provides care in situations in which the patient\'s condition is stable and the patient care outcomes are predictable. Within the scope of practice, the Registered Practical Nurse promotes health, assesses and provides care and treatment by supportive, preventative, therapeutic, palliative and rehabilitative means to attain or maintain optimal function for the patient.

Job Requirements:

Required:

• Registered Practical Nurse in good standing with current registration
• Current BCLS certification
• Demonstrated satisfactory work performance and attendance history is a requirement of this position

Academic Preferred:

• Post diploma preparation in physical assessment for R.P.N.\'s
• Post diploma coronary care course

Departmental Education and Skills Requirements:

• Glucometer
• Wound care
• Catheterization - male and female
• Medication administration including I.V. administration

Experience Preferred:

• Previous experience in an acute care setting
• Previous experience in an Emergency Department

Assets:

• Bilingual - English and French

Hours of Work: Temporary Part Time, scheduled up to 24 hours a week. Must be available to work shifts including days, evenings, nights and weekends. Shifts and hours may change according to departmental requirements and as per the SEIU collective agreement.

Salary: $35.27 - $35.97 an hour
