Current Opening
We are currently seeking Registered Practical Nurses (RPNs) to join our team on a casual/on-call basis in Perth, Ontario. At Dilys Staffing, RPNs have the opportunity to utilize their skills and experience to deliver compassionate, individualized care to residents while benefiting from our commitment to excellence and finding the perfect fit for each assignment.
What You Will Do
In the RPN role, you will:
Perform comprehensive assessments on patients including obtaining medical history, conducting physical exams, taking vital sign measurements, and testing vision acuity. Document findings in detail.
Administer oral and injectable medications, wound care, treatments and specimens as directed by care plans and physicians' orders. Observe, document, and communicate effects and changes to the care team.
Provide patient and family education on health conditions, care procedures, treatment options, instructions for self-care and comfort measures. Explain terminology in clear, understandable language.
Create, implement, evaluate and regularly update individualized care plans tailored to each patient's needs, goals, and preferences. Adjust approaches as required.
Closely observe patients, monitor for physical or mental condition changes, and rapidly respond to emergencies or alterations requiring immediate intervention. Promptly consult other providers as appropriate.
Ensure diligent infection control protocols and safety precautions are followed to prevent disease transmission and maintain a secure environment.
Communicate closely with physicians, nurses, specialists and unregulated care providers to coordinate clinical care decisions and optimize quality of life. Share observations and insights.
Maintain accurate, timely documentation in clinical records to guide the care team. Thoroughly chart assessments, interventions, and changes.
Provide compassionate, ethical, person-centred nursing care aligned with federal and provincial standards. Uphold integrity and respect choice.
Participate in ongoing training and professional development to strengthen competencies and enhance practice. Apply learnings to care.
Perform administrative tasks such as responding to inquiries, preparing files, and ordering supplies and equipment. Organize effectively.
Support and supervise unregulated healthcare providers and peers to reinforce legislated standards and quality care delivery. Provide guidance and validation.
What We Are Looking For
Valid Drivers License, access to a vehicle, and committed to commuting to
Stittsville
, and the surrounding areas.
We require RPNs to have their
Diploma in Practical Nursing
, from an accredited program, or e
quivalent international nursing education with a Canadian certificate in a related healthcare program
.
Being registered and entitled to practice with the
College of Nurses of Ontario is mandatory for RPNs
.
Ideal candidates have
at least 3+ months of recent RPN hands-on LTC or Retirement home FULL-TIME WORK
experience providing clinical care.
Valid credentials including
Enhanced Covid-19 Vaccination, CPR, Vulnerable Sector Check, Tuberculosis Test/Chest X-ray Result, N95 Mask Fit Test
,and
Professional Liability Protection
are required.

Assignment Details (Schedule)
Casual on-call basis
Night 12 hr shift -- 7 pm - 7 am
