As part of an exciting long-term vision to expand the clinical scope of pharmacy services, we are looking for a
Registered Practical Nurse (RPN)
to take on a hybrid role that combines traditional pharmacy assistant duties with nursing insight. This is a unique opportunity to help shape a forward-thinking healthcare model from the ground up.
Position Overview:
We are seeking a reliable, detail-oriented RPN to support day-to-day pharmacy operations, including medication dispensing and patient interactions, while also bringing clinical expertise to elevate patient care. This full-time, permanent role (28-44 hours/week) is ideal for a nurse interested in working in a non-traditional care setting with opportunity for growth.
Key Responsibilities:
Perform pharmacy assistant duties including prescription intake, data entry, inventory, blister packaging, and customer service.
Verify patient identity and provide medication guidance, particularly for methadone, Suboxone, and other addiction-related therapies.
Support communication and education for patients with complex needs, drawing on nursing judgment.
Work closely with the pharmacist-in-charge to develop and implement care models that integrate nursing and pharmacy practice.
Assist in maintaining a safe, compliant, and patient-centered environment.
May be delegated additional clinical or expanded-scope tasks as permitted by regulatory standards and within the scope of practice.
What We're Looking For:
Registered Practical Nurse (RPN), in good standing with the College of Nurses of Ontario (CNO)
.
Interest or experience in addictions medicine, primary care, or community health is a strong asset.
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
Comfortable working in a fast-paced pharmacy environment.
Willingness to grow with the role as part of an evolving model of care.
