Registered Practical Nurse (rpn)
Job Description
We are currently seeking a Registered Practical Nurse who is willing to join our dynamic team of professionals. This is a full-time permanent position, working between 32 and 40 hours per week depending on work needs.
The successful candidate should be skilled at providing excellent customer service, be highly organized and experienced at handling patient-related issues as well as helping the physician ensure that the day-to-day operations run smoothly. The RPN will be responsible to assist the physician by providing patient assessment, screening, education, chronic disease management and provide patient follow-up.
The incumbent must be willing to work Monday to Friday, which includes two evening shifts.
General duties include:
Greeting and preparing patients prior to seeing the physician.
Administering injections, taking vitals, doing diabetic checks, baby well checks, wart treatment, ear syringing and preparing patients for annual health examinations.
Discussing results with patients under the doctor's guidance and supervision as needed.
Contacting public health as needed.
Record and document management using PS Suite EMR.
Attending to emails, phone calls and faxes in a timely manner.
Preparing referrals and consult letters.
Filling forms as needed.
Other duties as required.
Requirements:
Valid certificate of registration from the
College of Nurses of Ontario
(CNO) Valid Basic Life Support (BLS) cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) Level C certificate Successful completion of RPN medication administration course or equivalent Excellent communication skills in English and French is a great asset; other languages are also an asset. Experience using PS Suite (EMR) software is an asset Available to work two evenings per week (no week-end)Only candidates chosen to be interviewed will be contacted.
