We are looking for a part-time RPN to join our urgent care team.

Qualifications:

RPN diploma Experience with immunizations, ear irrigation and cryotherapy is an asset Current registration with the Ontario College of Nurses is required. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Good computer skills in Word, Excel, and general spreadsheets Ability to work independently and as part of a team to provide client services English fluency is required and Bilingual (English/French) is considered an asset. Experience with Telus PS Suite is considered an asset.

Duties include:

Welcome patients and take vital signs, apply aseptic techniques including sterile dressing, ensure infection control, and conduct specimen collection Provide safety and health education to individuals and their families Provide nursing services, within the defined scope of practice Monitor patients' progress, evaluate the effectiveness of nursing interventions and consult with appropriate members of the healthcare team Update immunization status of the patients, ensuring status is current Perform and record immunizations as required Advise patient of possible side effects and instruct patients to remain in office for a present time post injection Stay up to date with the schedule of routine provincial immunizations Order vaccines from Public Health or manufacturer as directed. Ensure proper transportation and storage. Document fridge temperatures and ensure temperature is well maintained. Administers procedure such as cryotherapy, throat swabs, skin scapings, ear syringing or other test in scope of practise Responsible for wound care and suture removal Prepares procedure trays as directed Accurately completes requisitions. Instruct patients on appropriate specimen collection within appropriate containers Dispose of sharps and specimens appropriately Aids with pap test and pelvic examination for male Physicians as required Records accurate, concise documentation regarding patient history, phone conversation and encounters

Pay: $25.00-$28.00 per hour
