What are we looking for?
An enthusiastic registered practical nurse that provides compassionate, kind, and competent care. Experience providing care to residents with dementia and experience as a Behavior Support Nurse are preferred.

Qualifications
:
? Current registration with the College of Nurses of Ontario with the appropriate certification of registration and entitled to practice without restriction; proof of registration must be provided through the CNO website or some other method involving the CNO
? Recommend the good standing with WeRPN
Responsibilities
include, but are not limited to: General
1. Adhere to all written policies and procedures of the Home
2. Perform all tasks with an acceptable standard of skill and sense of responsibility
3. Work safely, following the Safety Guidelines, as posted
4. Follow WHMIS 2015, fire safety, and emergency plan procedures
5. Attend meetings, training and in-services
6. Follow infection prevention and control procedures, as per best practice guidelines
7. Keep work area clean and tidy
8. Report any immediate or potential hazards to the department director, or designate
9. Report maintenance requests, as needed
Position Specific
1. Responsible for the assigned home area and assists in the planning, provision and supervision of nursing care, exercising judgment to meet resident needs
2. Responsible for administration of medications and treatments as prescribed
3. Discusses resident condition, obtains and processes orders from the physician
4. Works with the nursing team in developing and maintaining current RAI MDS assessments
5. Orders, controls and distributes resident medication and other necessary supplies in conjunction with the Director of Care and/or Registered Nurse
6. Contributes to, is familiar with and follows the residents' plans of care
7. Provides direction and supervision of care of personal support workers
8. Assists in maintaining adequate staffing levels as required, notifying the Charge Nurse of any staff scheduling concerns
9. Follows the registered practical nurse responsibilities as outlined in the Fire Safety Plan and Emergency Plan
10. Responsible for professional development and maintenance of clinical competence
Safety Roles and Responsibilities
: All staff are responsible for identifying incidents and for taking immediate action to ensure the safety of residents, visitors and other staff. Open disclosure must occur when a safety incident happens, regardless of whether it is unplanned, unintended or a circumstance that could have resulted or did result in unnecessary harm to a resident. Data and feedback from staff, resident, client, families and partners can identify system vulnerabilities to inform quality improvement efforts
Total Team Responsibility:
To provide leadership and act as a resource for the nursing department.

Pay: $29.64-$32.36 per hour
