Role Description Summary
The Registered Practical Nurse (RPN) at Infini Health plays a vital role in delivering high-quality, patient-focused care while ensuring the clinic operates efficiently. This role combines clinical responsibilities--such as patient assessments, medication administration, and record-keeping--with front-line support including appointment scheduling, patient communication, and coordination within the healthcare team.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Patient Care
Deliver patient-centered nursing care in alignment with clinic policies, procedures, and regulatory standards.
2. Clinical Support
Assist physicians and other healthcare professionals during assessments, examinations, treatments, and minor procedures.
Prepare patients and treatment areas for clinical procedures, ensuring comfort and safety.
3. Patient Education
Provide clear, compassionate education to patients and their families regarding care plans, medications, follow-up instructions, and health management strategies.
4. Environment & Safety
Maintain a clean, safe, and organized clinical environment in compliance with infection control protocols and health standards.
5. Collaboration & Teamwork
Work closely with interdisciplinary team members to ensure coordinated, efficient care and optimal patient outcomes.
Participate in ongoing communication and case discussions to support continuity of care.
Administer prescribed medications and treatments accurately and safely.
Monitor and document patient conditions, reporting changes promptly and maintaining thorough, up-to-date records.
Qualifications and Skills
Education and Experience:
Current and valid registration as an RPN with the
College of Nurses of Ontario (CNO)
.
A minimum of
1-2 years of experience
in a clinical or outpatient setting is preferred.
Skills and Competencies:
Strong organizational skills with an ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities effectively.
Proven ability to remain calm under pressure, with a customer-focused approach and excellent interpersonal skills.
High attention to detail and accuracy, particularly in patient information and billing.
Proficient in Microsoft Office and experience using EMR systems, PACS, and other clinic software.
Strong verbal and written communication skills.
Ability to maintain confidentiality and comply with privacy regulations.
Key competencies include adaptability, problem-solving, team collaboration, and technology proficiency.
Working Conditions:
The Registered Practical Nurse will work primarily in an office/clinic environment at
our Hamilton
location.
Full-time role with flexability in schedule to accommodate clinic needs.
The role requires a collaboration, strong communication, and team-player attitude within a dynamic, high-volume setting.
Physical & Psychological Health Requirements:
The role may involve physical activities, including extended standing periods, administrative duties, and handling medical equipment as needed.
Must be able to practice patience and empathy while interacting with patients experiencing both acute/chronic pain.
Ability to assist patients entering or exiting the clinic with mobility challenges.
