The Ottawa Rotary Home provides respite care to families and individuals with physical disabilities or complex medical needs. We offer a variety of respite programs for children and adults, providing relief and support to families in the Ottawa area since 1982.

We want to hire enthusiastic, proactive, and motivated

Registered Practical Nurses

with strong clinical skills. We offer all employees an extensive in-home training program and guide staff through the program using various instructional techniques and role modeling.

, and assisting others with their activities of daily living (including personal care). You will be goal-driven, helping individuals in finding purpose in their community.

Job Expectations

Responsible for supporting individuals in reaching their full potential as a member of our community and in all health-related matters Advocate for individuals to live in a state of dignity, share in all elements of their community, and have the opportunity to participate effectively. Under the clinical direction of the Clinical Care Coordinator and the Clinical Resource Nurse, provide health support and interventions across all programs at our Leitrim location. Communicate the health needs of individuals to the Developmental Support Workers and support staff in making appropriate decisions when providing care. Participate in committees that oversee health and safety and pandemic planning. Supports the Clinical Coordinator in teaching and monitoring unregulated care providers performing exempted controlled acts and advanced health care skills. Provide supervision and support to the individuals residing with ORH Complete program planning and daily activities, including community support, in-home activities, and event planning Provide all necessary aspects of daily living, including personal care. Home maintenance, including cooking and cleaning Maintaining a safe home environment for all individuals within both respite and residential programs Participate in the annual planning of residents and assist in developing Individualized Support Plans and yearly goals. Keep up to date on agency policy, information, and guidelines Maintain accurate client and agency records Promote an environment of well-being and self-care for peers and residents Act as a liaison between internal and external contacts Maintain current standing in required courses and annual certifications

License/Certification Requirements

Current registration status with CNO RPN License (entitled to practice in Ontario) CPR Certification
