Pretty River is a private retirement home located in Collingwood. The home is specifically designed for people with dementia and will focus on Resident care and services to help them live with a healthy balance of mind-body-spirit, and purpose. The ideal candidate will be a positive, team oriented, flexible person who puts the needs of the Residents first.

Duties

Provide comprehensive nursing care to patients, including assessments, planning, implementation, and evaluation of patient care plans. Administer medications and treatments as prescribed by physicians. Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to support care needs of resident Educate patients and their families on health management Maintain a safe and clean environment for residents and staff. Participate in quality improvement initiatives and adhere to best practices in nursing care. Working under the supervision and reports to the Director of Care Contributes within the scope as a team member in the assessment, treatment, provision of care and health promotion for all residents through supportive, therapeutic, palliative and rehabilitative means while adhering to the standards mandated by the College of Nurses of Ontario Assists residents with all Activities of Daily Living (ADL) which includes, but not limited to personal hygiene, meals, transfers/mobility, life enrichment and toileting Documentation per Pretty River and RHRA standards One and two-person transfers required, as well as the use of mechanical lifts Keeps Pretty River's leadership aware of any incidents involving resident, family and/or staff, including near misses, injuries, unsafe work habits or working conditions

Experience

Previous experience working with Dementia residents advantageous Previous experience working in a retirement setting

Pay: From $30.00 per hour
