ROLE: Registered Practical Nurse - Long Term Care | Agency Travel Contract | Cornwall, ON Full time contract
$49/Hr 4 Week Contract April 11 start date $1350/ 4 weeks Rent Stipend AGENCY CONTRACT THROUGH HERO CARE HERO CARE has a proven track record in providing our contract/travel nurses with a variety of exciting, positive and unique working experiences. Our team is now expanding our staffing services to provide contracts to Registered Nurses across Canada! QUALIFICATIONS NECESSARY:
- Registered Practical Nurse License in good standing with the Provincial College of Nurses
- Current CPR
- 3 years experience
- Medical knowledge

- Knowledge of occupational hazards and safety rules

- Plans and manages patient care according to each patient\xe2\x80\x99s needs.
- Interviews patients and records their medical history and physical condition.
- Obtains patient vital signs, including pulse, blood pressure, temperature, and respiration.
- Provides routine care for patients.
- Observes patients\xe2\x80\x99 health.
- Reviews medical charts.
- Accompanies patients to their rooms.
- Assists physicians and registered nurses.
- Communicates with patients and their families.
- Performs standard diagnostic procedures including EKG, phlebotomy, venipuncture, PFT, and Doppler.
- Prepares specimens for lab courier.
- Administers medications.
- Provides wound care.
- Prepares and administers injections and/or enemas.
- Assists with patient comfort.
- Monitor catheters.
- Admitting new residents
- Assisting physicians during rounds of residents\xe2\x80\x99 rooms
- Assigning and delegating duties to non-licensed nursing staff
- Monitoring resident care and supervising other nursing staff
- Performing ongoing assessments of residents\xe2\x80\x99 physical and mental health
- Explaining procedures and treatment protocols to residents
- Human Resource, Corporation, and Department Policies
- Must provide satisfactory vulnerable sector check
- Must maintain Registered Nurse class license with the Provincial College of Nurses
