We are seeking a compassionate and skilled Registered Practical Nurse (RPN) to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in patient care and demonstrate proficiency in various nursing practices. As an RPN, you will play a crucial role in delivering high-quality care to patients across diverse settings, including hospitals, long-term care facilities, and outpatient clinics. Your ability to work collaboratively with healthcare professionals and provide empathetic support to patients will be essential in this role.
Duties
Conduct comprehensive patient assessments and develop individualized care plans.
Administer medications and treatments as prescribed, ensuring adherence to safety protocols.
Monitor vital signs and report any changes in patient conditions to the healthcare team.
Provide IV infusion therapy and manage catheter care as needed.
Assist with diagnostic evaluations, including specimen collection and processing.
Engage in triage and emergency response situations, utilizing critical care experience when necessary.
Document all patient interactions and medical records accurately in EMR/EHR systems such as Epic, Cerner, or Athenahealth.
Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to ensure optimal patient outcomes in areas such as geriatrics, pediatrics, and hospice care.
Educate patients and families on health management strategies, including pain management and nutrition.
Uphold HIPAA regulations while maintaining confidentiality of patient information.
Experience
Candidates should have experience or familiarity with the following areas:
Critical care settings (ICU, PICU) and emergency medicine practices.
Long-term care environments such as nursing homes or assisted living facilities.
Medical office operations including primary care and outpatient services.
Specialized fields such as infectious disease care, Alzheimer's/memory care, and behavioral health.
Proficiency in ICD coding (ICD-9/ICD-10) for accurate medical documentation.
Skills in phlebotomy, medication administration, basic life support, and airway management.
