Position Summary

:


The Registered Practical Nurse, Employee Health, Safety and Wellness, is a regulated health professional who is responsible and accountable to work in accordance with the relevant legislation, professional standards and ethical requirements of the profession. As a vital member of the Employee Health, Safety and Wellness Team, the RPN plays an integral role in assisting with the administration and provision of various programs including, pre-employment health and immunization assessments, injury/illness reporting, communicable disease and exposure surveillance, respiratory fit-testing, TB skin testing and wellness promotion. The RPN collaborates and partners with the Employee Health nursing team, Occupational Safety, Well-Being and Injury Prevention Consultants, as well as Disability Support Services in the administration and implementation of all programs within the RPN scope of practice


Position Requirements:



Licensed RPN currently registered with the College of Nurses of Ontario Diploma or Certificate in Occupational Health Nursing Diploma or Certificate in Occupational Health and Safety is an asset Minimum of 1 - 2 years of experience as an Employee Health Nurse in a hospital -setting Working knowledge of the Public Hospitals Act, Public Health guidance Occupational Health and Safety Act, WSIB Act, Human Rights and applicable legislation and regulations Demonstrated knowledge and experience related to communicable disease surveillance, infectious disease exposures and immunizations Excellent organizational, time management and critical thinking skills to prioritize workload, problem solve, and adapt to frequent interruptions and change Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Office, Outlook, Excel and other software including Parklane
