Key Qualifications:
Current Registration and Certification of Competence from College of Nurses of Ontario is required * A minimum of 3 years recent Surgical experience required
Able to function to the full scope of practice as per CNO
Current BCLS is required
Current acute inpatient and/or ambulatory surgical experience is required
A Physical assessment course is preferred
Ability to critically think and demonstrate good judgement in order to prioritize patient care in an ambulatory setting or emergency situation
Must have effective interpersonal, communication, organizational and problem solving skills
Reliable and flexible individual who is willing to work collaboratively within an interdisciplinary team environment
Positive attendance and work record essential
Must meet physical demands of the position, performing substantial walking, standing, twisting and bending as required for patient care. Must follow no patient care lift policy.
Position Summary:
Working as a member of an interdisciplinary team to ensure high quality care
Responsible for the provision of nursing care, teaching and coaching to patients and their families
Responsible and accountable for the provision of nursing care in accordance ith the standards of nursing practice and THC Best Practice Protocols
Establishing priorities and making ethically sound decisions to ensure safe patient centred care.
Documentation of patient data to ensure continuity in the provision and coordination of care
Collaboration with other health care professionals.
Responding to emergency situations to promote optimal patient outcomes by recognizing changes in the patient\xe2\x80\x99s health status.
