Algonquin Nursing Home is located in the town of Mattawa, Ontario. Our 73-bed bilingual facility is dedicated to providing "A Place Called Home" in long-term care for the people of Mattawa, East Nipissing, and other residents of Ontario. We are sponsored by the Catholic Health Sponsors of Ontario and licensed under the Ministry of Health, and accredited by Accreditation Canada. Our goal is to use a team approach in order to provide a safe, clean, comfortable and pleasing home atmosphere for residents and their families.

We are seeking a highly motivated Casual Registered Practical Nurse / Team Leader.

Under the direction of the Registered Nurse, the RPN will provide care to residents while supervising Personal Support Workers as a Team Leader.

Minimal Education

Practical Nursing College Diploma from a recognized college Current certificate of registration from the College of Nurses of Ontario in good standing Basic Cardiac Life Support certificate (Basic Rescuer)

Additional Skills & Functional/Technical Competencies

Preferably bilingual (French/English) Compliance with confidentiality requirements Minimum 1 year recent relevant experience preferred Ability to perform duties in a professional and courteous manner and produce high quality work while meeting deadlines in accordance with the Algonquin Nursing Home standards Demonstrates commitment to continuing education Demonstrates ability to work and function independently and as a member of a multidisciplinary team Demonstrates excellent interpersonal, communication, organizational, critical thinking and problem solving skills Demonstrates leadership skills Demonstrates excellent conflict resolution and negotiation skills Excellent attendance and work record required Resident-focused, respecting diversity amongst individuals

Shifts include day and evening shifts.
