(RPN) is a professional caregiver who is responsible and accountable for providing quality patient care within a delivery model in accordance with the philosophy, policies and standards of care of the Royal Victoria Regional Health Centre, the College of Nurses of Ontario (CNO) and all relevant legislation. This position is within the oncology systemic therapy department at the Hudson Regional Cancer Centre.
Must have the ability to learn about, from and with other members of the patient care team to foster a strong interprofessional model of care.
This position will be required to work and train in any area of the Oncology Outpatient clinics or programs.
Education:
Current College of Nurses certificate of competence required
Current BCLS required
RPN Oncology Nursing Certificate required
Experience:
Current progressive acute care nursing experience within the last two years required
Recent experience in one of the following areas: oncology, palliative care or ambulatory care required
DeSouza Foundations in Oncology or equivalent required
Experience with peripheral IV insertion and maintenance required
Experience with PICC management, blood product administration and wound care management required
Experience with oncology and hematology patients preferred
