Position Summary:

2D is an in-patient Mental Health unit that supports the recovery of the acutely ill patient.The Mental Health Team is committed to delivering the highest quality of care in a safe, therapeutic environment.

:

  • Working as a member of an interdisciplinary team to ensure high quality care;
  • Responsible and accountable for the provision of nursing care to an adult and seniors mental health population in accordance with the standards of nursing practice and evidenced based practice;
  • Must be willing to work all shifts.
Qualifications:
  • A current annual certificate of competency with the College of Nurses of Ontario;
  • Able to function to the full scope of practice as per CNO combined with sound patient care nursing skills required;
  • Minimum of 1 year experience in an adult mental health hospital setting required;
  • Medication Certificate and experience with administration of medication within the last year required;
  • Patient physical assessment course required;
  • Must have effective interpersonal, communication, organizational and problem solving skills;
  • Reliable and flexible individual who is willing to work collaboratively within an interdisciplinary team environment;
  • Positive attendance and work record essential;
  • Must be available to work alternate weekends.

Location:

We offer employees, in roles that are conducive to remote work, the flexibility and the right mix of remote and in-office work (approximately 80/20). Acknowledging that the primary works space will be remote work from home, but there will be times when onsite presence is appropriate just as there will be times when onsite presence may not be possible.

The expectation is that remote work locations, as part of the Flex First program, will be in the employee\xe2\x80\x99s place of residence, and adhere to all THP policies and procedures, with special consideration towards privacy. Since employees should be available to return to the workplace with 24 hours\xe2\x80\x99 notice, remote work outside of the province or country is not acceptable.
