Visit us today and check out to see why more people from across the globe are moving here.About the OpportunityReporting to the Pharmacy Operations Manager, the Registered Pharmacy Technician participates in the provision of safe, competent, patient & care-partner centered, ethical care, ensuring the goals and needs of the patient are prioritized and individualized. This role includes activities focused on pharmacy outpatient services such as preparing and packaging medications, supporting prescription order entry, dispensing, and performing technical product checking. Responsibilities also include working with a variety of pharmacy information systems, inventory management including supporting outpatient billing processes, generating reports for audit purposes, and participating in quality programs and patient safety initiatives.About YouWe would love to hear from you if you have the following:

• Graduate of an accredited Pharmacy Technician Program
• Licensure and registration in Nova Scotia as a Pharmacy Technician (NSCP) required
• Drug administration by injection technical permit (Pharmacy Technician) an asset
• BLS (Basic Life Support) required
• Experience as a pharmacy technician, preferably in a hospital, an asset
• Knowledge of the Kroll pharmacy information software, an asset
• Knowledge of sterile technique and special precautions used with chemotherapy are an asset
• Experience in unit dose drug distribution systems, automation technology, decentralized medication dispensing cabinets, an asset
• Knowledge of medical terminology, inventory control and record keeping
• Demonstrated good decision making and problem solving skills
• Demonstrated ability to perform mathematical calculations related to medications Knowledge of the law and regulations pertaining to the receipt, storage and distribution of prescription and narcotic drugs
• Basic typing skills or computer/keyboard experience; skills in Microsoft Office Suite, Excel, etc.
• Effective communication and interpersonal skills
• Competencies in other languages an asset, French preferred
