Job Overview

We are seeking a skilled and customer-focused Optician to join our team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in optical services, with a keen understanding of medical terminology and retail sales. As an Optician, you will play a critical role in helping patients select the right eyewear solutions while ensuring exceptional service and satisfaction.

Responsibilities

Assist patients in selecting appropriate eyewear based on their prescriptions and personal preferences. Provide expert advice on lens options, frames, and other optical products. Perform fittings and adjustments to ensure proper comfort and functionality of eyewear. Maintain accurate records of patient prescriptions and orders using electronic health record systems such as Epic. Collaborate with optometrists and other healthcare professionals to ensure comprehensive patient care. Manage inventory levels of optical products and supplies, ensuring that the display is well-stocked and organized. Conduct basic laboratory tasks, including lens edging and frame assembly as needed. Uphold high standards of customer service in a retail environment, fostering positive relationships with clients.

Requirements

Proven experience in optical services or a related field is preferred. Familiarity with medical terminology relevant to eye care is essential. Previous laboratory experience is a plus, including knowledge of lens fabrication processes. Strong retail sales skills with the ability to engage customers effectively. Experience with retail management is advantageous for overseeing store operations. Proficiency in using electronic health record systems like Epic is desirable. Excellent communication skills and a commitment to providing outstanding patient care. Ability to work collaboratively within a team-oriented environment while maintaining professionalism at all times.
