As a Registered Nurse (RN) or Registered Psychiatric Nurse (RPN) in Addictions and Mental Health (AMH) you get the opportunity to learn about complex mental health disorders that are present in all areas of health care facilities. It\'s rewarding being part of supporting various individuals to stabilize psychiatrically and assist them with the skills required to reintegrate back into the community. We have dedicated safe spaces for staff to reprieve, rewind and relax known as the Wellness Centre to support staff resiliency and coping. As an RN/RPN, you work as a member of the multidisciplinary health care team in the in-patient acute psychiatric nursing unit collaborating on the delivery of holistic, comprehensive care to meet the needs of individuals, families and communities. You provide excellence in nursing assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of care developing strong skills in mental status assessment, de-escalation, and conflict resolution. The opportunity to be a strong advocate for the patient is an integral role as you will facilitate the appeal process for patient certification as well as speak to the patient\'s level of functioning in front of an AMH review panel board. You will develop your group facilitation skills as all nursing staff within AMH are responsible for facilitating and delivering group content to the patients.

You will play a leadership role in supporting an integrated and holistic approach to patient care, health promotion and maintenance. You will provide safe, quality patient and family centered care while reflecting the shared vision and values of AHS.
