Bigstone Health Commission is seeking an experienced Registered Nurse (RN) to join our talented Health Team. Duties and Responsibilities
Promote wellness for community members through an integrated team approach.
Provide public health and or education programs including but not limited to: Well Baby Clinics, STI Counseling, Prenatal/Postnatal care, and other public health programs.
Provide Immunizations and assist the team with immunization clinics.
Organize and jointly assist health providers and other health professionals with screening clinics.
Make client/family home visits and referrals to other agencies and professionals when a need is identified.
Create and maintain daily accurate records, documents, and reports.
Participate in Community Health Program planning.
Provide direct nursing care and health education to clients.
Deliver a wide variety of community health clinics (both pre-packaged and requiring development by the incumbent to fit community needs
Act as a resource for other community based public health workers, CHR's, MCH, CPNP, etc.
An ability to educate patients and their families (where applicable) on appropriate self-care methods and techniques.
Provide support to surrounding Bigstone communities (Calling Lake & Chipewyan Lake) as requested.
Other duties as required.
Must be willing to re-locate to Wabasca, Alberta
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Must have a high degree of professionalism.
Possess excellent interpersonal skills. communication and organizational skills.
Must be medically fit.
Confidentiality is strictly enforced.
Must be proficient with computers.
Education and Experience:
Bachelor of Science in Nursing from a recognized university
Licensed with the College and Association of Registered Nurses of Alberta (CRNA) (proof of registration required)
Current Standard First Aid Certificate and Mental Health First Aid
Must have 1 or more years of experience in Public Health and Nursing
Current Certificates in: CPR Lever C, First Aid, TDG and WHMIS or willing to take training.
Valid Class 5 driver's license
