As the Registered Nurse covering the community of Viking and surrounding area, you will have the opportunity to make a difference in the lives of people in your community. As a Registered Nurse - Home Care (RN) reporting to the Home Care Manager, the role of the RN is based on Assisted Living Alberta strategic direction and the Continuing Case Management Competency Framework. Using a person-centered approach, the RN supports the client/family to identify needs, focus on strengths, and set/achieve goals across the continuum of services. The RN demonstrates stewardship in service allocation engaging community and client resources. Responsibilities include assessment of client needs, establishing goals for client care delivery, planning, delivering, and coordination of care needs, resources and services within professional practice standards and Home Care program guidelines, communication and coordination of client care with the interdisciplinary team, and evaluation of outcomes. The goal is to deliver holistic and comprehensive care to meet the needs of individuals and families within the Home Care program for the community of Viking and surrounding areas. Excellent critical thinking, creativity, resourcefulness, time management, and organizational abilities are key assets to be successful in this role. This position is based out of Viking Home Care. Viking is located approximately 136 km southeast of Edmonton, Alberta. You can live rurally but also get the benefit of living within 1 hour and half from the capital city.
Description:
As a Registered Nurse (RN), you will provide a wide variety of nursing services to patients, families, communities and populations, while taking necessary steps to ensure their safety and well-being. In your role, you will utilize nursing processes, through critical thinking, problem solving and decision making, as well as teach, counsel and advocate on behalf of patients and their families. You will play a leadership role in supporting an integrated and holistic approach to patient care, health promotion and maintenance. You will provide safe, quality patient and family centered care while reflecting the shared vision and values of AHS. PLEASE NOTE: Provisional Permit Holders shall be paid $39.58 /hour - $54.16/hour. Upon being entered into the register of Registered Nurses, the rate of pay shall be adjusted to the rate of pay applicable to a Registered Nurse in accordance with AHS/UNA Article 25.02(b)(i) or (ii) as applicable.
