Edmonton Zone Continuing Care provides services through five main program areas: Home Living, Supportive Living, Facility Living, Transition Services & Palliative Care. We are looking for a Registered Nurse to join our Home Living team to provide professional support services in the homes of clients of all ages & stages of life. As a self-directed team member with Continuing Care in the Edmonton zone, the Registered Nurse works collaboratively with the health care team & has responsibilities, including assessment of needs, delivering appropriate therapeutic nursing services within professional practice standards, coordinating resources, establishing goals for client delivery, & evaluating outcomes. In addition, this position provides case management as well as direct client care that meets established clinical standards, and is evidence based and client centered. In collaboration with family and other partners, the Registered Nurse acts as a consultant on the team providing clinical expertise and direction to other team members regarding client cases, developing a care plan, based on those unmet needs, using the appropriate internal and external resources. As a member of the multidisciplinary team, the Registered Nurse is responsible for participating in staff development and mentoring student clinical experiences. This is a designated float position based out of the Strathcona Home Care office but will provide support to the Suburban/ Rural East team to provide primary coverage for vacant shifts which includes travel to other home care network offices, as required. This position provides triage and clinic support, as well as community direct client care.

As a Registered Nurse (RN), you will provide a wide variety of nursing services to patients, families, communities and populations, while taking necessary steps to ensure their safety and well-being. In your role, you will utilize nursing processes, through critical thinking, problem solving and decision making, as well as teach, counsel and advocate on behalf of patients and their families. You will play a leadership role in supporting an integrated and holistic approach to patient care, health promotion and maintenance. You will provide safe, quality patient and family centered care while reflecting the shared vision and values of AHS. PLEASE NOTE: Provisional Permit Holders shall be paid $35.87/hour - $43.82/hour. Upon being entered into the register of Registered Nurses, the rate of pay shall be adjusted to the rate of pay applicable to a Registered Nurse in accordance with AHS/UNA Article 25.02(b)(i) or (ii) as applicable.
