in beautiful Merritt, B.C. We have an exciting opportunity available for a nurse passionate and experienced in Mental Health and Substance Use in the role of Nurse Prescriber!
If you have current practicing registration with the British Columbia College of Nurses and Midwives (BCCNM) as an opioid use disorder certified practice nurse, plus two years related experience in Mental Health and Substance Use environment, and would like to be a part of a supportive team environment while working autonomously, this is the position for you!

About the Job:
The Registered Nurse/Registered Psychiatric Nurse (RN/RPN)- Certified Practice- OUD functions as a member of the larger interdisciplinary care team to ensure that persons with opioid use disorder have access to timely, responsive, evidence based treatment and clinical supports across the continuum of available services. Working in the assigned clinical area, the RN/RPN provides assessment, diagnosis, treatment (including ordering and prescribing opioid agonist therapy), referral to community support(s), and as required, escalation of care to both primary care practitioner and addiction medicine practitioners.
This is a permanent full-time opportunity.
Shifts of work are days, Monday to Friday, with shift times of 8:30 to 16:30 hours.

Graduation from an approved school of nursing.
Current practicing registration with the British Columbia College of Nurses and Midwives (BCCNM) as an opioid use disorder certified practice nurse, and two years' recent related MHSU experience in the assigned clinical area(s) such as Substance Use Counselling & Treatment Services; Treatment, Support & Recovery Services; Crisis Response; Substance Use; Opioid Agonist Treatment Services; or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience.
Current valid B.C. driver's license.
