Required
Current Certificate of Registration in good standing, or eligible for registration from the College of Nurses of Ontario.
Current certification in BCLS or CPR, or proof of enrolment in a recertification course. You will be asked to provide a copy of your valid certificate at the time of hire/transfer.
Critical Care course completed.
Minimum of 2 years recent experience as an RN supporting post anaesthesia or critical care patients within the past 3 years.
Capable of coping with a physically demanding workload. (Physical Demands Analysis PDA available to review)
Duties
Utilizes the nursing process in assessing, planning, implementing and evaluating patient care and manages follow up care in the perioperative environment.
Performs acts requiring specialized knowledge, critical care skills and judgement in assessing health needs and in planning, administering and evaluating patient care for paediatric, adolescent and adult clients.
Provides health education and procedural teaching for clients and their families.
Responsible for supervision and guidance of other members of the health care team who contribute to the provision of patient care.
Maintains nursing records and meets documentation requirements in a computerized environment.
Participates in CI, continuing education and risk management programs to ensure a high level of patient care.
Other duties as assigned.
