Vancouver Coastal Health is looking for Registered Nurses to join the Operating Rooms/Post Anesthesia Care Unit/Day Care team at qathet General Hospital in Powell River, BC. Apply today to join our team!

As a Registered Nurse - OR/PAR/Day Care you will:

  • Provide nursing care to assigned patients commencing with the admission from Day Care through the peri-operative period to discharge from P.A.R. according to established standards and policies.

Qualifications

Education & Experience
  • Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing.
  • Current practicing registration as a Registered Nurse with the British Columbia College of Nursing Professionals (BCCNP).
  • Successful completion of a recognized O.R. Nursing program or equivalent combination of education training and experience in a related nursing area.
  • One years experience in /OR/PAR/DC nursing.
Skills and Abilities
  • Ability to render nursing care in a professional manner, consistent with nursing and administrative practices, procedures and regulations.
  • Ability to use, maintain, assemble and dismantle O.R. instruments and equipment.
  • Ability to function in emergency or stressful situations.
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with other staff.
  • Fitness to practice the duties of the position.
  • Ability to function in Day Care, O.R. P.A.R.
  • Ability to take assigned share of O.R. On Call.

The hours of work including days off and work area may be subject to change consistent with operational requirements and the provision of the Collective Agreement and applicable statutes.
