Oversee the delivery of care for the neurology patient population by coordinating patient care delivery, ensuring provision of direct patient care for patients, making adjustments in patient assignments/schedules with accountability for follow-up and patient outcomes.
Initiate and coordinate assessment and post assessment referrals; respond to patient, family, and health care member\xe2\x80\x99s enquiries; and liaise with other support and diagnostic health services in coordinating patient referrals.
Collaborate with nursing staff, medical staff, health care disciplines, and community agencies to plan patient care in the clinic and community setting.
Promote and implement teaching for patients, families, and other care team members regarding the various neurological disorders, complications, and modes of management as well as health maintenance and health promotion.
Act as clinical nursing resource in identifying and providing education for patients, families, nursing staff, health care professionals, community agencies/services, and schools, providing information based on specialized theory and practice.
Participate in the orientation and continuing education of nursing staff and students by role modeling, preceptoring and participation in formal teaching of education sessions through lecture and demonstration and evaluation to ensure that materials have been learned correctly.
Consult with educational resources, both in-house and external in developing and implementing continuing education and professional nursing practice development for BC Children\xe2\x80\x99s Hospital nursing staff and other hospital and community health professionals related to pediatric neurology.
Plan and develop educational resources such as pamphlets and patient teaching tools for patient, family, and professional health education for pediatric neurology in consultation with other team members.

Qualifications
Graduation from an approved School of Nursing with current practicing registration as an RN with the British Columbia College of Nurses and Midwives (BCCNM).
Three (3) to five (5) years recent related clinical nursing experience including ambulatory care experience and/or community health care experience or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience.
CPR \xe2\x80\x93 basic level 1
