Position Summary




Do you have a passion for nursing? We have the position for you! We are seeking a motivated Registered Nurse with a dedication for delivering compassionate patient care to join our team at GR Baker Memorial Hospital.



Reporting to the Program Manager, the staff nurse is responsible for assessing, planning, implementing and evaluation patient care and nursing practice activities within the framework of quality management, and in accordance with the GR Baker Memorial Hospital standards of care. The role is defined by the needs of the Hospital, a select patient/family population, agency expectations and the goals for professional nursing practice.



Shift Rotation/Hours of work:

Days, Nights, 07:00 to 19:00, 19:00 to 07:00 (rotating)



GR Baker Memorial Hospital

is a full care hospital with 27 Acute Care beds, 4 ICU beds and 5 crisis stabilization beds.

Some services provided the hospital:

Full Emergency Medical Care Laboratory Diagnostic Imaging Pharmacy General Surgery Internal Medicine Otolaryngology (ENT) Community Cancer Care Physiotherapy Respiratory Therapy Environmental Health Speech and Language Therapy Visiting specialists in Cardiology, Pediatrics, Orthopedics, Plastic Surgery, Urology and Ophthalmology Video conferencing for consultations with specialists or physicians in other areas. Qualifications




Registration with BC College of Nurses and Midwives as a practicing RN registrant. Post graduate courses (within last five years) appropriate to service assignment or equivalent combination of education, training and experience.


Skills and Abilities:



Ability to physically perform the duties of the job, and has the ability to organize the work. Ability to provide safe, competent patient care Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with all members of the Health Care team. Ability to communicate and maintain good public relations with family and friends of patients Able to communicate effectively in verbal and written form. Ability to recognize and intervene appropriately in an emergency situation. Able to operate related equipment.
