Role Description Summary



The Registered Nurse (RN) supports the delivery of comprehensive, patient-centred care for individuals with musculoskeletal injuries, orthopedic conditions, and performance-related health issues. The RN will assist physicians, physiotherapists, and other allied health professionals in delivering high-quality, evidence-based care to patients ranging from recreational to elite athletes. This role involves clinical assessment, education, coordination, and procedural support in a fast-paced, multidisciplinary environment all while operating efficiently within the standards of the?College of Nurses of Ontario (CNO).

Key Responsibilities:



1. Patient Centered Care



Deliver patient-centered nursing care in alignment with clinic policies, procedures, and regulatory standards. Prepare patients for examinations and procedures, ensuring comfort, safety, and readiness for care.

2. Clinical Support



Assist physicians and other healthcare professionals during assessments, examinations, treatments, minor procedures, and documenting and transcribing dictation notes accurately into patient records. Prepare patients and treatment areas for clinical procedures, ensuring comfort and safety. Support OHIP billing processes by providing accurate clinical details and documentation as required.

3. Patient Education and Communication



Provide clear, compassionate education to patients and their families regarding care plans, medications, follow-up instructions, and health management strategies. Conduct follow-up phone calls with patients post-procedure to provide care instructions, answer non-diagnostic questions, and ensure continuity of care.

4. Environment & Safety



Maintain a clean, safe, and organized clinical environment in compliance with infection control protocols and health standards.

Qualifications and Skills:



Education and Experience:



Current and valid registration as an RN with the?College of Nurses of Ontario (CNO). A minimum of?3-4 years of experience?in a clinical or outpatient setting is preferred. Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BScN) or equivalent from an accredited institution.

Skills and Competencies:



Strong organizational skills with an ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities effectively. Proven ability to remain calm under pressure, with a customer-focused approach and excellent interpersonal skills. High attention to detail and accuracy, particularly in patient information and billing. Proficient in Microsoft Office and experience using EMR systems, PACS, and other clinic software. Strong verbal and written communication skills. Ability to maintain confidentiality and comply with privacy regulations. Key competencies include adaptability, problem-solving, team collaboration, and technology proficiency.

Working Conditions:



The Registered Nurse will work primarily in an office/clinic environment at?our Hamilton clinic?location. Full-time role with flexibility in scheduling to accommodate clinic needs. The role requires a collaboration, strong communication, and team-player attitude within a dynamic, high-volume setting.

Physical & Psychological Health Requirements:



The role may involve physical activities, including extended standing periods, administrative duties, and handling medical equipment as needed. Must be able to practice patience and empathy while interacting with patients experiencing both acute/chronic pain. Ability to assist patients entering or exiting the clinic with mobility challenges.
