Position Summary

Starting on Day 1 our team is ready to support your learning & career development by sharing their extensive knowledge and experience. You will participate in a comprehensive nursing orientation that includes clinical practice experience. We want you to have the tools you need to be successful in our unique environment. Required

• Enrolled in final year of Nursing Program with an anticipated completion date of 2023.
• Completion of Coronary Care 1 or equivalent (ex. previous Cardio Concepts QHC) or willing to register to an eligible course within 60 days and completion within 6 months of commencement of position (or mutually agreed upon dates).
• Current CPR or BCLS certificate.
• Capable of coping with a physically demanding workload. (Physical Demands Analysis PDA available to review)

Duties

• Develop and implement a nursing plan of care
• Work in collaboration with the patient and the interdisciplinary health care team
• Maintain clinical competence and knowledge base through continued education and life-long learning
• Utilize evidence-based practice as a base in the promotion of professional accountability
• Provide safe, competent and ethical nursing care
• Maintains nursing records in accordance with College of Nurses Standards.
• Practicing in compliance with provincial legislation, hospital policy and procedures, professional regulatory standards and best practices within the nursing profession
• Maintaining professional competence by completing regular professional development including annul training and education as indicated
• Participates in unit/dept. and hospital quality improvement initiatives
