Job Description

The Registered Nurse (RN) is an essential member of the interdisciplinary team, playing a central role in delivering compassionate, culturally sensitive care to patients of the Calgary Refugee Health Clinic. Working to their full scope of practice and with a focus on chronic disease management, the RN provides high-quality, evidence-based nursing care.

Collaborating closely with the interdisciplinary team, external healthcare providers, and community partners, the RN ensures patients receive comprehensive, holistic, coordinated, and timely care. In addition, the RN promotes health literacy, supports patients in navigating the healthcare system, and contributes to addressing community health challenges

Qualifications & Experience

? Bachelor's degree in nursing is required

? Current CRNA registration and membership in good standing is required

? Minimum of Three (3) years RN experience

? CPR certified

? Specialty certifications (CDE, CRE etc.) considered an asset

? Phlebotomy training considered an asset

? Experience with wound care and foot care considered an asset

? Previous experience working with newcomers in a multicultural environment

? Experience working independently in a community setting

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

? Ability to be flexible, adaptable and to thrive in a dynamic, and evolving environment

? Knowledge of the comprehensive primary health care model and the broad determinants of population health

? Knowledge of concepts of health promotion and disease prevention

? Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.

? Proficiency in computer software, including office productivity tools (e.g., Microsoft Office) and electronic medical records (EMR) systems.

? Positive, friendly, professional attitude and demeanor

? Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.

? Ability to maintain patient confidentiality and demonstrate professionalism at all times.

? Completion of a satisfactory criminal record check and Vulnerable Sector Search is required

Job Types: Part-time, Permanent

Pay: $41.00-$50.00 per hour

Expected hours: 23.25 per week
