Reporting to and under the direction of the Resident Care Manager, the Registered Nurse (RN) provides quality nursing care that identifies needs of individual residents and develops a nursing care plan to ensure comprehensive care; provides direct nursing care based on the care plan, medical orders, Donwood Manor Resident Bill of Rights, Mission Statement, nursing objectives and policies, WRHA/Manitoba Health standards and provincial nursing regulations; assigns tasks; provides guidance to and evaluates the work performed by other nursing team members to ensure high quality of care and optimum utilization of staff; maintains accurate, appropriate, informative records of nursing observations, health conditions and care given.



QUALIFICATIONS


RN with registration in good standing (CRNM); Prior experience in long-term care preferred; Experience in supervisory roles; Strong oral and written communication skills; Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work with residents and their families in problem-solving; Understanding of geronotological nursing; Strong organizational skills and ability to make decisions based on critical thinking and analysis; Appreciation for and ability to provide care from a resident-centred perspective; Completion of Wound Care Level 1 training an asset; Mental and physical capabilities to meet the job demands; Ability to function within an interdisciplinary team environment that supports quality resident care.
