Salary
The salary range for this position is CAD $41.42/Hr. - CAD $55.91/Hr.
Summary
As a Staff Nurse, you'll be at the forefront of patient care, working collaboratively within an interdisciplinary team to ensure patients receive comprehensive support. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Assess patients' physical, social, spiritual, and psychological needs
  • Develop, implement, and evaluate individualized care plans
  • Incorporate teaching into care plans to educate patients and families
  • Make referrals to resources as needed
  • Support fellow healthcare professionals

What You Bring
Education:
Current practicing registration as a Registered Nurse or Registered Psychiatric Nurse with the British Columbia College of Nurses and Midwives
Skills and Abilities:
  • Demonstrated competence in performing CPR procedures.
  • Experience in teamwork, decision-making and conflict resolution
  • Demonstrated a teaching aptitude
  • Proficient in clinical leadership
  • A strong desire to expand your professional skills and a commitment to lifelong learning in the nursing field

Program and Scope: Holy Family Hospital Rehabilitation Unit (HFH Rehab) is one of the largest rehabilitation referral centres in BC. The unit has 65 inpatient beds dedicated to supporting the specialized rehabilitation needs of older adults following a life-altering event, such as a stroke, other neurological issues, orthopedic trauma, as well as major surgeries like hip replacements and leg amputations. In addition, more than 15,000 patients visit HFH Rehab each year to receive outpatient rehabilitation services for needs resulting from illness or injury
State-of-the-art facilities: The new St. Pauls Hospital and health campus will represent the most innovative approach to the delivery of integrated care in B.C. and Canada. It is designed to appropriately address the future health needs of patients, families, and our communities. From hospital care to primary and community health solutions, the new St. Pauls Hospital and health campus will continue to lead innovations in care, research, and teaching. The new St. Pauls Hospital is expected to open in 2027.
Your Day to Day:
  • Conduct thorough patient/resident assessments through chart reviews, observations, interviews, and collaboration with peers
  • Develop, implement, and evaluate nursing care plans based on evidence-based practices, prioritizing patient/resident needs
  • Adhere to established policies, procedures, and PHC standards while providing high-quality nursing care
  • Monitor patient/resident progress, evaluate outcomes, and adjust care plans as needed for optimal results
  • Maintain accurate records of assessments, care plans, patient/resident status, and discharge plans using manual and computerized systems.
  • Identify and address patient/resident and family learning needs, providing education and referrals as necessary
  • Provide direction to staff, promote teamwork, and share clinical knowledge to enhance patient care
  • Support nursing research initiatives and contribute to the improvement of patient/resident care policies and procedures
  • Advocate for patients/residents' rights and dignity, facilitate discharge plans, and collaborate with families and community resources
  • Perform additional duties as assigned to support the healthcare team
