Unit 61 at the Royal Alexandra Hospital is part of the Adult Acute Services portfolio of the Recovery Alberta Mental Health and Addiction program. We provide patient and family centered care, with all team members working within the CoACT collaborative care model. Reporting to the unit manager, the Registered Nurse/Registered Psychiatric Nurse (RN/RPN) is responsible for the assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation of patient care for adults presenting with acute addictions and mental health concerns. The successful applicant will provide safe, effective, and stage-matched nursing care according to clinical policies, procedures, and evidence-based nursing care standards. The RN/RPN works within a concurrent capable, recovery-oriented framework, within the context of a multidisciplinary team. Other duties include assuming charge nurse responsibilities. The Royal Alexandra Hospital in Edmonton is an exciting and fast-paced facility. Some of our accomplishments include being the site of numerous recent renovations and our patient and family centered Circle of Care program that supports the involvement of a patient's primary support person in all aspects of their care. In your role, you will utilize nursing processes, through critical thinking, problem solving and decision making, as well as teach, counsel and advocate on behalf of patients and their families. Upon being entered into the register of Registered Nurses, the rate of pay shall be adjusted to the rate of pay applicable to a Registered Nurse in accordance with AHS/UNA Article 25.02(b)(i) or (ii) as applicable.
