Focused on in-patient acute psychiatric nursing, you will engage in collaborative efforts to provide holistic and comprehensive care, addressing the diverse needs of individuals, families, and communities. In this position, you will work collaboratively with the multidisciplinary team to develop a robust plan of care to stabilize patients suffering from acute psychiatric illness. Your responsibilities include delivering targeted interventions with an awareness of evaluation to modify approaches based on evolving patient needs. Your scope of practice will encompass physical and mental status assessments, de-escalation, and conflict-resolution. Additionally, you will engage in discharge planning that promotes, maintains, and restores mental health while preventing mental illness, injury, and disability. In this role, you will also be responsible for facilitating and delivering applicable group content to the patients. You may also support in the care of patients receiving Electroconvulsive therapy (ECT) treatment, ensuring patients are informed and assist in the pre- and post-treatment assessment and monitoring.
