Red Deer & surrounding area have an exciting opportunity for a Registered Nurse (RN) who is passionate about providing comprehensive and trauma-informed Sexual and Reproductive Health (SRH) education, clinical and harm reduction services to diverse populations. In this position, you will work collaboratively with a team of nurses and physicians to deliver clinical services that provide contraceptives and information, Sexually Transmitted and Blood Borne Infection (STBBI) testing and treatment, HIV Pre-Exposure Prophylaxis, cervical screening, pregnancy testing & options support, care after a sexual assault, counselling on healthy relationships & sexual decision making. Your activities include obtaining SRH histories; assessing SRH needs; providing comprehensive sexual & reproductive health information; conducting screening tests; lab management, counselling clients of abnormal test results, providing medications & referring clients for additional support. To be successful in this role you will be able to multi-task throughout high volume clinics. As an SRH RN Educator, you will deliver comprehensive sexuality education programs to a variety of schools, community, and professional groups. Session topics can include contraception, STBBIs, interpersonal relationships, body changes and growing up, safety and consent. Through education and outreach you will build capacity with communities to gain the knowledge, skills, and comfort of talking about sexual health. As subject matter expert, you will apply teaching and learning theories and be comfortable with a variety of software and virtual platforms. This will assist with successful knowledge translation and skill development for individuals and groups. You will remain current with evidence-based literature, monitor trends, interpret data and assist with resource development and project support with the SRH team.

As a Registered Nurse (RN), you will provide a wide variety of nursing services to patients, families, communities and populations, while taking necessary steps to ensure their safety and well-being. In your role, you will utilize nursing processes, through critical thinking, problem solving and decision making, as well as teach, counsel and advocate on behalf of patients and their families. You will play a leadership role in supporting an integrated and holistic approach to patient care, health promotion and maintenance. You will provide safe, quality patient and family centered care while reflecting the shared vision and values of AHS. PLEASE NOTE: Provisional Permit holders will be paid $39.58 - $54.16 per hour. Upon obtaining a full licence, the rate of pay will be adjusted to the applicable Registered Nurse rate in accordance with UNA Article 25.02(b)(i) or (ii) as applicable.
