Your Opportunity:As a member of the psychiatric Crisis response team, you will be responsible \xe2\x80\xa2 Consultation & Assessment: Perform detailed comprehensive assessments of patients with mental health and/or substance use disorders referred by physicians at the Red Deer Regional assess, mental status, risk factors, and addiction severity to inform treatment recommendations. Care Coordination: Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, including psychiatrists, social workers, and other healthcare providers, to develop, implement, and monitor individualized care plans. Facilitate community connections to appropriate levels of care, such as detox programs, or outpatient services. Crisis Intervention: Provide immediate crisis intervention and stabilization for patients experiencing acute psychiatric episodes or substance use crises. Utilize de-escalation techniques and therapeutic communication to support patient safety and well-being. Patient Advocacy & Education: Advocate for patients and their families by promoting understanding of mental health and addiction issues. Educate staff and bring a psychological informed care approach to staff, patients, families, and caregivers on available resources, harm reduction, and relapse prevention strategies. Collaboration & Liaison: Serve as a key liaison between the medical and mental health teams, ensuring clear communication and coordinated care for patients with co-occurring medical and psychiatric conditions. Documentation & Reporting: Maintain accurate and timely clinical documentation of assessments, interventions, and care plans. Ensure compliance with Recovery Alberta policies, standards, and ethical guidelines.Description:As a Registered Nurse (RN), you will provide a wide variety of nursing services to patients, families, communities and populations, while taking necessary steps to ensure their safety and well-being. Upon being entered into the register of Registered Nurses, the rate of pay shall be adjusted to the rate of pay applicable to a Registered Nurse in accordance with AHS/UNA Article 25.02(b)(i) or (ii) as applicable.
