Your Opportunity:

Alberta Health Services (AHS) is looking for Registered Nurses (RNs) to join our team! As a RN, you will work within a multidisciplinary team and play a key role in the support of an integrated holistic approach to the patient\'s health care, health promotion and health maintenance. You will be responsible for the assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of safe quality care following the policies and guidelines of AHS. You will serve a diverse patient population with a continual focus on the core values of AHS - compassion, accountability, respect, excellence, and safety. As part of a multidisciplinary team, you will be expected to utilize your critical thinking and problem-solving skills to provide direct patient and family centered care to patients across the life span. You will demonstrate a professional and positive attitude with excellent communication while prioritizing multiple demands. Unit 22 is an acute inpatient Cardiology/Telemetry Unit where a candidate with experience and skill can manage a population of complex unpredictable and unstable patients. You will have a strong interest in patients requiring cardiac-related Nursing care and can work effectively within a multi-disciplinary team to provide family-focused Nursing care. In accordance with LOU #7, this competition is to support the hiring of internationally educated nurses and will be restricted to only those applicants who meet the posting requirements and who do not currently reside or have eligibility to work in Canada. Description:

As a Registered Nurse (RN), you will provide a wide variety of nursing services to patients, families, communities and populations, while taking necessary steps to ensure their safety and well-being. In your role, you will utilize nursing processes, through critical thinking, problem solving and decision making, as well as teach, counsel and advocate on behalf of patients and their families. You will play a leadership role in supporting an integrated and holistic approach to patient care, health promotion and maintenance. You will provide safe, quality patient and family centered care while reflecting the shared vision and values of AHS. PLEASE NOTE: Provisional Permit Holders shall be paid $35.87/hour - $43.82/hour. Upon being entered into the register of Registered Nurses, the rate of pay shall be adjusted to the rate of pay applicable to a Registered Nurse in accordance with AHS/UNA Article 25.02(b)(i) or (ii) as applicable. Required Qualifications:

Completion of an accredited nursing education program. Active or eligible for registration and practice permit with the College of Registered Nurses of Alberta (CRNA). Current Basic Cardiac Life Support - Health Care Provider (BCLS-HCP). If you have not practiced as a Registered Nurse within the last five (5) years, completion of the following free courses is required: CRNA Medication Management - Chapters 1 - 4 (https://connect.nurses.ab.ca/home/%2Flearning-and-development%2Flearning-modules%2F) and the NextGenU Health Assessment Resources Certification (https://courses.nextgenu.org/course/view.php?id=271#section-0) Additional Required Qualifications:

Current clinical experience (within the last 12 months) as a Registered Nurse in at least one of the following departments is required: acute care, emergency, cardiology, intensive care, operating room, and obstetrics. Minimum of 3 years experience within the last 5 years as a Registered Nurse in more than one of the following departments: acute care, emergency, intensive care, operating room, and obstetrics. A willingness to learn new skills as required. Ability to work shift work and meet the physical demands of the job. Preferred Qualifications:

Bachelor\'s degree in nursing. Experience and demonstrated ability to administer medications within the acute care setting. Experience in an acute care setting at full scope of practice. Certification(s) in a relevant specialty area. Charge nurse experience. Past leadership training/experience.
