Your Opportunity:

Red Deer Regional Hospital is seeking an experienced Registered Nurse for the Post Anesthetic Recovery Room (PACU) to support their dynamic surgical portfolio. The PACU is a critical area providing specialized care for patients following anesthesia and surgical procedures. The PACU nurse has strong assessment and organizational skills; the ability to recognize subtle changes in patient and provide the needed interventions in a timely manner. PACU nurses function autonomously and need strong communication skills to ensure critical information is conveyed to all stakeholders. The PACU Nurse uses their technical skills and clinical judgement in the delivery of professional nursing care. Ability to stand for long periods at patient\'s bedside is required. Ability to move/reposition unresponsive patients in order to protect airways is required. Participates in collaborative practice with members of the multidisciplinary team. On call is required.

Description:

As a Registered Nurse (RN), you will provide a wide variety of nursing services to patients, families, communities and populations, while taking necessary steps to ensure their safety and well-being. In your role, you will utilize nursing processes, through critical thinking, problem solving and decision making, as well as teach, counsel and advocate on behalf of patients and their families. You will play a leadership role in supporting an integrated and holistic approach to patient care, health promotion and maintenance. You will provide safe, quality patient and family centered care while reflecting the shared vision and values of AHS. PLEASE NOTE: Provisional Permit Holders shall be paid $35.17/hour - $42.96/hour ($35.87/hour - $43.82/hour effective April 1, 2023). Upon being entered into the register of Registered Nurses, the rate of pay shall be adjusted to the rate of pay applicable to a Registered Nurse in accordance with AHS/UNA Article 25.02(b)(i) or (ii) as applicable. Required Qualifications:

Completion of an accredited nursing education program. Active or eligible for registration and practice permit with the College of Registered Nurses of Alberta (CRNA). Current Basic Cardiac Life Support - Health Care Provider (BCLS-HCP). Additional Required Qualifications:

Current PACU experience (within the last 6 months) and/or completion of a PACU certificate program. Or a minimum of 2 years current PACU/Critical Care/ICU/Surgical experience is required (current refers to experience in the last 3 years). Preferred Qualifications:

ACLS is an asset. PACU Course.
