GBGH is looking for experienced RNs interested in working within our Float Department on a Full Time basis.
The purpose of the Float Department is to provide additional support to GBGHs three inpatient departments: 2 East - Acute Medicine, 2 North - Medical/Surgical and 1 North - CCC/Palliative/Rehab.

QUALIFICIATIONS

  • Current certificate of registration in good standing with the College of Nurses of Ontario required
  • Must be compliant with College of Nurses quality assurance standards
  • Current B.C.L.S Certification essential, on hire required
  • V. Therapy (knowledge of Inotropes, Thrombolysis, etc.)
  • Physical Assessment Adult/Paeds
  • Central lines including accessing and blood sampling
  • C.A pumps
  • Phlebotomy
  • Blood glucose monitoring
  • Proven ability to adapt to a fast paced and changing environment
  • Must meet expectations for appropriate, respectful, and professional conduct, as set out in the GBGH Code of Conduct
  • Demonstrated competencies in arrhythmia interpretation
  • Demonstrated commitment to exceptional customer service
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively using both oral and written format with patients, families, colleagues and the interprofessional team
  • Demonstrated experience working independently and within a team setting
  • Demonstrated excellent problem-solving ability, critical thinking and organizational skills
  • Commitment to professional growth and development of self and others
  • Computerized documentation (Meditech Expanse) an asset
  • Demonstrated satisfactory work performance and attendance history
  • Commitment to GBGH Values and Purpose Statement
  • French verbal and written communication skills are considered an asset in this position
  • Current Advanced Cardiac Life Support (A.C.L.S.) preferred
  • Current Advanced Pediatric Life Support (P.A.L.S) preferred
  • Coronary Care - Level 1 preferred
  • Coronary Care - Level 2 preferred
  • Obstetrical Skills - preferred

  • Hourly rate of pay $39.07 - $56.00

HOURS OF WORK
Full Time Permanent. Must be available to work shifts including days, evenings, nights and weekends. Shifts and hours may change according to departmental requirements and as per the ONA collective agreement.
