Opioid use is a serious problem in Alberta that requires a comprehensive, coordinated, and sustainable approach to prevent and reduce harms related to opioid dependence. Strategies have been implemented to address this problem, including opioid replacement medication and psychosocial support available to the public wanting to access treatment. The Opioid Dependency Program (ODP) provides oral medication Suboxone, methadone, and Kadian (SROM), injectable medication such as Sublocade and Narcotic Transition Services (NTS) which provides medications such as Hydromorphone. We are seeking an experienced, caring, and strength-based professional to complement our Health Services Team. As a Registered Nurse (RN) in the Opioid Dependency Program, you need to be knowledgeable and comfortable working with all forms of opioid replacement treatment. You will work with an interdisciplinary team to provide holistic, quality, client-focused, recovery-based, concurrent and culturally sensitive care to those accessing the clinic. Duties include providing interventions needed to address clients' health needs, coordinating care with other team members, case management, planning, medication management and evaluation as well as providing coaching and support. While this position will focus on mainly on working with clients within the ODP Program, the incumbent may be trained to work with clients of the NTS Program as well. This position has transitioned to Recovery Alberta effective September 1, 2024. As a Registered Nurse (RN), you will provide a wide variety of nursing services to patients, families, communities and populations, while taking necessary steps to ensure their safety and well-being. In your role, you will utilize nursing processes, through critical thinking, problem solving and decision making, as well as teach, counsel and advocate on behalf of patients and their families. You will play a leadership role in supporting an integrated and holistic approach to patient care, health promotion and maintenance. You will provide safe, quality patient and family centered care while reflecting the shared vision and values of AHS. PLEASE NOTE: Provisional Permit Holders shall be paid $39.58 /hour - $54.16/hour. Upon being entered into the register of Registered Nurses, the rate of pay shall be adjusted to the rate of pay applicable to a Registered Nurse in accordance with AHS/UNA Article 25.02(b)(i) or (ii) as applicable.
