The Peri-operative certified RN will possess the theoretical knowledge and technical skills required to work in the peri-operative setting. The Operating Room program is dedicated to providing safe client care utilizing an effective and efficient team approach.
Qualifications
Current registration with the CNO required.
Certification from a recognized Perioperative Program
Certificate in BCLS and ACLS required and must be maintained by the nurse.
Minimum two (2) years experience in the Operating Room within the last five (5) years preferred.
Must be able to rotate through all services.
Post basic Operating Room Certificate required.
Must be able to work all shifts, weekends plus on call which includes Endoscopy
Preference given to candidates with previous experience in Endoscopy and with current laser certification.
Must function within the competencies, professional and clinical standards for Perioperative Nursing Practice.
Experience working in an Electronic Medical record preferred
Commitment to providing high quality, individualized patient care.
Ability to form good working relationships with all members of the healthcare team.
Ability to make intelligent, independent decisions and initiate appropriate action based on patient-focused best practice guidelines.
Demonstrated ability to utilize the Nursing process while performing detailed and highly technical procedures.
Excellent work performance and attendance record mandatory
The successful candidate will have a proven commitment to professional development as well as to the Mission and Vision of the Hospital. Demonstrates proficiency in written and verbal communications skills in relation to working with patients across the care continuum.
