The Wainwright Obstetrics Department consists of a four room Labour and Delivery area. We care for patients during the antepartum, intrapartum and postpartum periods including patients requiring C-sections. We value providing high quality, effective, efficient, evidence-based, patient-centered care for all of our pregnant, labouring, postpartum, newborn and perinatal loss patients. We strive to build an environment that empowers our patients and families through education and support through the life change that is pregnancy and childbirth, while also encouraging our staff to continuously learn and grow. By joining the Wainwright Obstetrical team, you will challenge and build your nursing, interpersonal, coaching, teaching, multitasking and assessment skills through care of patients whose condition changes rapidly through the antepartum, intrapartum, and postpartum process. Primary duties is within labour and delivery, which is apart of the general medicine floor at the Wainwright Health Centre. Other related duties will include collaboration and assistance with Acute Care and Emergency Units.

Description:

As a Registered Nurse (RN), you will provide a wide variety of nursing services to patients, families, communities and populations, while taking necessary steps to ensure their safety and well-being. In your role, you will utilize nursing processes, through critical thinking, problem solving and decision making, as well as teach, counsel and advocate on behalf of patients and their families. You will play a leadership role in supporting an integrated and holistic approach to patient care, health promotion and maintenance. You will provide safe, quality patient and family centered care while reflecting the shared vision and values of AHS.

Required Qualifications:

Completion of an accredited nursing education program. Active or eligible for registration and practice permit with the College of Registered Nurses of Alberta (CRNA). Current Basic Cardiac Life Support - Health Care Provider (BCLS-HCP). Additional Required Qualifications:

As Required. Preferred Qualifications:

Experience in Labour, delivery, postpartum care. Current certification in Neonatal Resuscitation. Experience and training in Fetal Health Surveillance.
