Job Description

ABC Travel Clinic specializes in Travel Medicine including but not limited providing travel consultations, vaccinations and travel medications for solo travelers, those who are traveling with children, elderly people, immunocompromised travelers and pregnant women.Theres a current opening for a Registered Nurse Independent Contractor Position to provide travel consultation services. These responsibilities include but not limited to: travel consult, providing vaccinations and medications to travelers at the clinic.Consultations may cover the following topics:

• Reviewing patients medical history, past vaccination history and determining the need for additional vaccinations depending on the risk and area of traveling.
• Providing travel medicine reports to clients related to the destination of traveling.
• Advice on medical and communicable disease concerns including but not limited to: insect-borne diseases such as Malaria, Dengue Fever, Zika, Yellow Fever, Japanese Encephalitis, and many others.
• Reviewing other medical concerns such as preventing Altitude Sickness, Travelers Diarrhea, Schistosomiasis, and any other concerns that patients may have related to your travel.

Qualifications:

• Registered Nurse
• Must be registered with the College of Nurses of Ontario and in good standing
• Previous experience in Travel Medicine is an asset
• Must have at least 1 year working experience as a Registered Nurse at a hospital, doctors office, or previous experience with immunization is an asset
• Must have Current CPR certification (Level HCP)
• Excellent interpersonal skills including written and oral communication skills, friendly, courteous, ability to multi-task, professionalism, and outstanding computer skills
• Ability to follow Medical Directives
• Must be available to work various shifts including: days, mainly afternoons-early evenings and weekends. MUST be able to work on Saturdays. May need to cover Sunday shifts based on operational needs.
• Must be able to start working ASAP
• Part Time Hours varies (6-12 hours per week)

Education/Previous Experience:

• Must have at least 1 year experience working as a Registered Nurse at a hospital, doctors office, community-setting
• Previous experience with immunization and knowledge of vaccinations is an asset
• Comfortable working on your own (minimal supervision) and following Medical Directives
• Bachelors degree in Nursing
• Must be licensed with the College of Nurses of Ontario and in good standing
• This is an Independent Contractor Position
• $40/hour + bonuses
