Qualifications:

Current BCLS certification Current registration and certification of competence with the College of Nurses of Ontario (Undergraduate degree in Nursing preferred)

Required Skills:

Related experience in the following areas are considered an asset:
Breastfeeding Course/Certificate Recent experience (including clinical) with medical/surgical, or OB related nursing experience Well-developed Patient Assessment, Planning Intervention and Evaluation Skills Computer literacy and Meditech knowledge and experience - asset Experience in the management of patient's requiring the following: Epidural Catheter/Spinal Anaesthetic - asset

Ability to manage a variety of patient conditions Ability to organize related activities; to remain flexible; and adapt to crisis situations Ability to work in a multidisciplinary team to provide optimal patient care Ability to work rotating shifts Good attendance and work record is essential Self-directed, motivated team player with a commitment to ongoing professional development Sound critical thinking, problem solving, conflict resolution and timely decision making skills Strong interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills, and organizational skills
