Qualifications:

Current BCLS certification Current registration and certification of competence with the College of Nurses of Ontario (Undergraduate degree in Nursing preferred)

Required Skills:

Related experience in the following areas are considered an asset:

Breastfeeding Course/Certificate Recent experience (including clinical) with medical/surgical, or OB related nursing experience Well-developed Patient Assessment, Planning Intervention and Evaluation Skills Computer literacy and Meditech knowledge and experience - asset Experience in the management of patient's requiring the following: Epidural Catheter/Spinal Anaesthetic - asset

Abilities:

Ability to manage a variety of patient conditions Ability to organize related activities; to remain flexible; and adapt to crisis situations Ability to work in a multidisciplinary team to provide optimal patient care Ability to work rotating shifts Good attendance and work record is essential Self-directed, motivated team player with a commitment to ongoing professional development Sound critical thinking, problem solving, conflict resolution and timely decision making skills Strong interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills, and organizational skills Consistently meets attendance expectations, demonstrating reliability and commitment to scheduled shifts
