Your Opportunity:
We are looking for a Registered Nurse/Registered Psychiatric Nurse (RN/RPN) with experience in patient-centered, trauma-informed, and recovery-based care to join the Medicine Hat Recovery Centre Team in Medicine Hat, Alberta. The RN/RPN functions within the knowledge and scope of practice of the College of Registered Nurses of Alberta or the College of Registered Psychiatric Nurses of Alberta. Reporting to the Manager of the Medicine Hat Recovery Centre and the Assistant Head Nurse, the RN/RPN works as part of a multi-disciplinary team and provides recovery-oriented services to clients struggling with complex addiction issues. The RN/RPN has skills in risk assessments, completing assessments and screenings for clients to determine eligibility to the facility as well as, physical and mental health stability, treatment planning and monitoring of clients physical and addiction/mental health issues. The RN/RPN is required to work collaboratively with community agencies, pharmacies, physicians, and psychiatrists. Description:
As a Registered Nurse (RN), you will provide a wide variety of nursing services to patients, families, communities and populations, while taking necessary steps to ensure their safety and well-being. In your role, you will utilize nursing processes, through critical thinking, problem solving and decision making, as well as teach, counsel and advocate on behalf of patients and their families. You will play a leadership role in supporting an integrated and holistic approach to patient care, health promotion and maintenance. You will provide safe, quality patient and family centered care while reflecting the shared vision and values of AHS. PLEASE NOTE: Provisional Permit holders will be paid $39.58 - $54.16 per hour. Upon obtaining a full licence, the rate of pay will be adjusted to the applicable Registered Nurse rate in accordance with UNA Article 25.02(b)(i) or (ii) as applicable.

Required Qualifications:

Completion of an accredited nursing education program. Active or eligible for registration and practice permit with the College of Registered Nurses of Alberta (CRNA). Current Basic Cardiac Life Support - Health Care Provider (BCLS-HCP) certification. Additional Required Qualifications:

Must have recent experience (within the last 2 years) working at a bed-based treatment program and/or a detoxification unit.

Preferred Qualifications:

Experience with Connect Care. Valid Non-Violent Crisis Intervention (NVCI) certificate.
