Administer medications, monitor treatments, and manage chronic conditions in a correctional setting. Educate patients on health and wellness topics, fostering self-care and understanding of medical conditions. Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to develop and implement individualized care plans. Document patient care accurately and maintain patient confidentiality in compliance with facility policies and regulatory guidelines. Respond to emergency situations and provide immediate care when necessary. Foster positive relationships with patients while maintaining professional boundaries in a correctional environment. Description:
As a Registered Nurse (RN), you will provide a wide variety of nursing services to patients, families, communities and populations, while taking necessary steps to ensure their safety and well-being. In your role, you will utilize nursing processes, through critical thinking, problem solving and decision making, as well as teach, counsel and advocate on behalf of patients and their families. You will play a leadership role in supporting an integrated and holistic approach to patient care, health promotion and maintenance. You will provide safe, quality patient and family centered care while reflecting the shared vision and values of AHS. PLEASE NOTE: Provisional Permit holders will be paid $39.58 - $54.16 per hour. Upon obtaining a full licence, the rate of pay will be adjusted to the applicable Registered Nurse rate in accordance with UNA Article 25.02(b)(i) or (ii) as applicable.

Required Qualifications:

Completion of an accredited nursing education program. Active or eligible for registration and practice permit with the College of Registered Nurses of Alberta (CRNA). Current Basic Cardiac Life Support - Health Care Provider (BCLS-HCP) certification. If you have not practiced as a Registered Nurse within the last five (5) years, you must complete the following free courses: CRNA Medication Management (Chapters 1-4), available at https://connect.nurses.ab.ca/home/learning-and-development/learning-modules/ and the NextGenU Health Assessment Resources Certification, available at https://courses.nextgenu.org/course/view.php?id=271.

Additional Required Qualifications:

Excellent assessment skills with the ability to work efficiently in a dynamic and challenging environment. Strong communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively with a diverse team. Experience in adult education and the ability to educate patients on health-related topics. Ability to handle challenging situations with professionalism and empathy.

Preferred Qualifications:

Experience in correctional or similar settings is a plus but not required. Certified in Duty to Respond. Connect Care Experience.
