About Us
STEPS (Supporting Team Excellence with Patients Society) is a non-profit community health organization dedicated to delivering collaborative, patient-centered care. Our interdisciplinary teams include Physicians, Registered and Licensed Practical Nurses, Dietitians, Counsellors, Social Workers, Community Health Workers, and Medical Office Assistants working together to provide integrated primary and community health services.
We are currently seeking a
part-time or casual Registered Nurse
to join our Kamloops team. This role will
most likely include a mix of work at our Valleyview and Downtown clinic locations
, depending on operational needs. Our clinics offer modern, welcoming spaces where teamwork, inclusivity, and innovation thrive.
What You Will Do
Clinical Responsibilities
Provide nursing care within your full scope of practice as defined by the BC College of Nurses and Midwives (BCCNM).
Work collaboratively with physicians, nurse practitioners, and allied health professionals to deliver high-quality, team-based care.
Support patient education, chronic disease management, and preventive health initiatives.
Participate in quality improvement activities and contribute to program development where appropriate.
Supervise and support nursing students as they learn and integrate into STEPS' model of care.
Team and Program Support
Collaborate with other clinicians to support STEPS Preventive Health Programs and community health initiatives.
Participate in the ongoing evaluation and refinement of clinical processes to improve patient outcomes and clinic efficiency.
Contribute to maintaining a welcoming and supportive environment for patients and staff.
Qualifications
Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) required.
Current registration and in good standing with the
BC College of Nurses and Midwives (BCCNM).
Strong clinical experience in community or primary care settings preferred.
Excellent communication, teamwork, and interpersonal skills.
Proficiency with
Electronic Medical Records (EMR)
-- experience with
Telus MedAccess
considered an asset.
Valid driver's license and access to a vehicle.
Cell phone required.
Working Conditions
Most likely a mix of shifts between Valleyview and Downtown Kamloops locations
, depending on clinic needs.
Part-time or casual
scheduling within clinic operating hours.
Occasional flexibility required for early morning, evening, or weekend meetings or events.
